something charmingly twentieth century about this
This counts as a spell
this came to me in a dream
the greatest part of this is that I can read this in each individual voice and it sounds exactly like something they would say
Bob’s Burgers→ 13.22 Amelia
“Heroes don’t have to be perfect. You know? They just have to make you think bigger about yourself somehow.” - Linda
“Amelia Earhart didn’t fly around the world. And some people may think that makes her a failure. And those people might say that loudly, while standing next to you with hot breath. And sometimes, yeah, people with louder, deeper voices get heard more and that’s really annoying, but that doesn’t make me want to make my voice lower and deeper. That just makes me mad… Look what Earhart did. She saved her money and she bought her bright red Lockheed Vega. That was her saying, “Hello. This is what my voice sounds like.”… Okay, so we know what probably happened. But who knows, right? When you’re that far out in the world, there’s more magic. That’s true. Maybe after she made her peace, just before she got too tired to keep afloat, maybe some of that magic lifted that plane right back up underneath her. And maybe she got to fly it back up into the air and maybe she never had to land again. Maybe she dropped Fred Noonan off in Navigator Heaven and then kept going. I like to think of her flying around up there right now. She makes me want to write a story for myself that’s as big and as fricking cool as hers. So that’s why Amelia Earhart is my hero.” - LouiseThis ep was so awesome. The way it references how women’s history is often forgotten and ignored, the fact we don’t know a lot BECAUSE it’s a woman so we have to guess what happened. How Louise focused and made sure she did a good job despite her not liking how Amelia’s story ended.
Also the theme of Linda being so proud of Louise throughout and Louise being her hero as opposed to the other way around, the way she mentions how she thinks of how must Amelia Earhart’s mother must have felt because she had this marvelous daughter and she’s not sure exactly what she did to make her so remarkable and fearless.
And then that they are both the colour in each other’s day at the end <3 <3 Louise was upset she had to spend Mother’s Day working on her project, but Linda got to be a mother on mother’s day - her favourite thing in the world. And the fact that final scene takes place under the loft bed, the bed Tina and Louise stayed up to finish themselves and made Linda so proud! Another one of those ones that makes me surprise!cry by the end and reminds me how good this show can be. If this ep didn’t make you cry then you’re a robot and we can’t be friends.
killing them for this btw
Not many people talk about how deep emotional neglect hurts you.
I’m afraid to want things. I’m afraid to ask for help. I’m afraid to tell someone something if they seem in a bad mood. I can’t process when someone is nice to me. I can’t handle rejection, but my brain literally short circuits if someone gives me a compliment to the point where sometimes the rejection is better.
There are lots of overlap with emotional abuse, but emotional neglect hurts just as much. And it’s even worse that it usually goes undetected, so a lot of people can’t tell they’re being neglected until it’s too late.
Like look a big part of why you’re coming across so many autistic people online is that we don’t know where else to go. We are very often isolated in real life interactions. Even whatever tiktok autistic you think is doing so well is probably different face to face. Online you can often stop to think about things more, and you don’t have to look people in the eye, and there’s no chance of unwanted touch, and if you’re worn out from socialising you can just close the window. It’s definitely not universal, and I understand there are autistic people who also find online communication just as daunting, and yes there are still aspects of it that are confusing to me, but like, if and when it works, it’s an escape. It’s an exception. It’s not an accurate reflection of how we are in society in general.
In online posts, you have all the time in the world to think of what to say.
In online posts, you can reread what you’re saying before posting it.
In online posts, your body language and tone are irrelevant.
In online posts, you won’t be interrupted and have assumptions made about what you were going to say.
In online posts, you don’t have to wait until it’s your turn to speak nor do you have to figure out when that is.
In online posts, you can’t be physically attacked for what you say.
Also you do not have to be speaking in order to use the internet. You don’t have to understand spoken language generally, and you can set and maintain incredibly firm boundaries.
between tumblr being found guilty of moderating lgbtq content unequally during the 2018 ban in court and @ sorryforpartyrocking being nuked for suggesting one of tumblr staff may have investment in defending terfs to now many different trans women having their text posts and selfies being flagged as mature without the opportunity to appeal in any meaningful way (one of which was nuked herself)… it’s very. hmmmm. it’s a bad look. as if staff wasn’t already on thin ice for refusing to engage in any effective way with hate speech. “queerest space on the internet” my ass
good. you do not deserve to have bird imagery
Tumblr has the opportunity to do the funniest fucking thing with their next mobile icon update

so prefacing this with the fact that I know that the fun is sorta taken out of this by me translating, but not everyone will have the energy to look it up themselves, so I figured I’d help out.
Morse code: AEEEEE FELL DOWN AND TROKE MY PENIT TODAY YEOWCE OUCH YOUCH!!!! SENT FROM MY TELEGRAPH
Semaphore: NO NOT YOUR PENITS
Always nice when math helps make it all the more clear how ridiculously reasonable the worker demands are.
This is what the studios have brought everything to a grinding halt for.
